this is the 1st time ive ever watched that debate show "the arena" till e end.. usually i'd skip to the last speaker.. i have a thing for last speakers lah.. & damn, i miss debating.. ok.. dats not the point.

the point is.. im liking the display of humour in today's motion.. esp e small guy from RI.. haha.. 2 words.. wittingly HILARIOUS!!! my kinda guy.

some random things :

ROB & AMBER are in 1st place again.. woohoo!!! eh.. they're not THAT evil k.. i just love the way they play.. very malicious.. (i'd do the same actually.. but then agn.. karma suck ass big time.. bloody shtyes)

im seriously craving for e sambal from ayam penyet at lucky plaza..

my dad is being a damn *toot*.. gawd! is having andropause THIS excrutiating??? we suffer u know father.. give us a damn break man.. gee...

my Gilmore Girls DVDs came in the mail today!!! like finally.. heheh... but, sadly i have to give it to fana for safekeeping.. i need to restrain myself.. concentrate on my final exams.. cannot pray2 aaarh!!

my bro just started driving ard the circuit today.. super excited lah gitu.. & he passed his BTT 1st time.. (nk celen aku keper?? haha)

my mum is booking us a holiday to Melbourne before i officially start work in june.. it's about damn time...

mr policeman has stuck to calling me "batam girl". thanks arh dude. NOT! (i sound like some cheap woman u know.. tsk tsk)

e moment i reached home. i pee-ed 3 times in 5 minutes (mind u, it wasnt those short spurts ok.. it was NORMAL peeing!).. my gawd! i hate u guys lah, bachins!!! this is personal sabotaging. aku mau protest. ini tidak adil!

goodness.. i dunnoe wat will happen to my bladder e next time we do this again.. i shall suffer in silence then i think.. & rubber pants! hahah.. (okaaay.. inside joke..)

HOLY CRAP! that Melinda Clarke has a damn good set of pipes man! ok.. i love American Idol.. i love e live band.. & i love e dude who can beat box! woohoo.. hahaha =)

well.. lets just say that im a reality TV junkie.. they give me that adrenaline i enjoy oh-so-much from e comfort of my bed.. really.. sometimes i wish i cld join e amazing race or something.. now all i need is a partner with a sense of direction! hahah...

let's just say.. a certain mr slenger (sad.. but true..) accidentally clicked "reply all" to an email i forwarded & we're still having what i'd like to call.. EMAIL WAR.. muahaha.. its harmless fun dude.. & e 3 of us are having a field day laughing at ur... erm.. replies.. haha...

moving on... my last 2 projects are killing me! oh boy.. my brain juices are suffering from major draught.. this is bad.. & i almost fell asleep during e grp meeting just now.. i NEVER fall asleep during grp meetings!! this is bad bad bad....

2nd day of CNY & these 2 psycho-dragged me to watch this with them.. gawd!

i gotta admit.. e movie's pretty darn good! ahahha.. nvr knew i'd watch a chinese movie in my life.. but this.. this is an exception.. ok bebs.. thnx for dragging me.. if not, i wld never know Daniel Wu ever existed.. haha.. goodness... he's in my top 20 "HOT DUDES" catalogue now... ehhhe.. (chet! catalogue keper???)

now, im having my one week break.. which is supposed to be filled with revisions & suchs.. BUT here i am.. layan-ing my cousins who have been sleeping over since monday.. (they're going home today btw) & they have been keeping me occupied with their japanese obsessions.. i mean seriously.. its "yamapi" one minute & "shige" e next.. mcm2 lah tu 2 budak...they hogged e big comp & MY laptop with jap songs..

& their obsession dsnt stop there.. they actually picked up e language just to understand their JAP IDOLS! omg.. & my ears are bleeding from hearing jap 24/7!!! its jap songs.. jap shows.. jap mags.. this is MADNESS okaaaay!!!!

hence ladies & gentlemen.. this is wat i call.. OBSESI! gee...

but still, i love those 2 mangkoks to bits lah.. they're migrating to melbourne soon & we wont be able to see each other for 2 years.. so there.. jap pon jap lah.. oh gaawd.. i pity my ears.. -_-

& meanwhile.. ive been watching reruns of e korean drama "princess hours".. i know.. im crazy.. but i cnt help myself.. its a good emotional rollercoaster for me.. i hate e guy but i love e guy.. gedit???

im addicted to shin-gin & chae-gyung... oh darn it.. this is soo pot calling e kettle black..

im complaining abt my cousin's obsession with japs, but aku pun sama dol jugak.. tsk tsk!! hahah..

im baaaaack!! from Pulau Batam... it was a much needed, waaaay overdued getaway..
we relaxed, shopped like we never shopped before, went sight-seeing places & things we never knew about the island...

contrary to popular belief (its a well-known fact that its e "gatal pakciks who dont know wat to do with their CPF money haven"), i really love batam.. it's a vast difference from our concrete jungle. furthermore, e stuff there are blardie cheap & nice lah siol!!! gue suka bangeeeet!! haha..

hmm.. abt e shopping.. *raises eyebrows*. we did burn a MAJOR hole in mummy's pockets. heheh.. eh wait, she'll burn that hole from my bank book on the 25th.. jeez... but it's ok.. all in the name of satisfying my already exploding cupboard.. muahaha.. (padahal, baju berlambak tau.. some hvnt even been worn yet! yikes!!) but seriously lah.. im a sucker for good bargains.. pantang nmpk bende murah!

okaaaay... pictures galoooore!!! bear with me please...

e "Sea Rider II".. our ferry to Sekupang terminal.

check out my dad, e pak haji sesat.. he knew batam was gonna be friggin hot, yet he wore black & wedding shoes! *smacks forehead* TSK DADDY!!!

me & bapak.. we call ourselves, the a-go-gos.. heheh..

we passed by plenty of developing lands.. & e funny thing is, these are the gates to a shopping centre, which hasnt even been built yet! haha..

did u know that batam has a humongous bridge (it's like a mini San Fransisco bridge) which connects 7 other indonesian islands together? e island after batam is Pulau Tonton.. & e tour guide let us get down for awhile to enjoy e scenery from the middle of the bridge.

can u see that small tiny island outside e window?? that's one of the 17000 plus islands of indonesia.. as long as there's ONE coconut tree on it, no matter how small e ground, it's an island.. gee.. im learning so much! haha.. fid, aku mcm pergi geography trip!!

then we visited South east asia's largest buddhist temple.. the "Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya"... we had some chinese who followed the tour. & mum was amazed as to how non-chalant they were about celebrating CNY. i mean, its their new year & they're enjoying it in batam having a jolly good holiday.. gah! kelakar btol lah manusia ni...

that's an Austin car imported from singapore. antique habes beb! the cars in batam are all second-handed from our country k.. & honda odessy is just S$17000! gawd! that dsnt even cover our road tax! hah!!

e biggest minyak kapak me & bro ever saw.. it's e size of a harry potter book i tell you!

after lunch, the bus driver brought us to a POLO retail store.. ader sale beb.. let's just say, i went mad in there.. =)

then, we ALL had a javanese traditional massage... S$20 for an hour & a half. i was enjoying it so much i almost dozed off in bliss! haha... goodness... act mcm org kaya skejap.. but its cheap lah.. so we all buay tahan already.. heheh..

e aftermath of e massage.. & right outside e pallor, some pakcik was selling krepek ubi.. home-made & still warm.. wah.. i especially loved e chilli one (daddy's holding e packet).. super pedas nk mampos!! but damn syiok!

me & mak.. very satisfied customers.. =)

1st shopping mall was Diamond City Mall. e bro & I wondered ard alone while e adults got tired of walking & decided to eat bakso for tea. we settled for the A&W coz we were seriously craving for e waffles ice cream. sungguh tebal & sedap & MURAH! enak lho.... ;)

now, right after that, they brought us to ANOTHER shopping mall in Nagoyah, Chinatown.. e parentals decided to have their haircuts.. just 13500 rupiah for a simple cut.. (which is like s$2 plus.. haha!) & meanwhile, i cuci my mata at daddy's hairdresser.. he looks much cuter in real life lah.. sumpah, he's one of e decent ones i saw throughout the entire trip! damn sad!!

there's even a Texas fast food restaurant in batam.. how interesting!! haha...

e wind was blowing against my hair lah... mcm aku ader muscles nk tunjukkan gitu.. babat aderlah.. sheesh!

we were waiting for the lift (on our way to attack the swimming pool, which by the way is gross, milky, disgusting & there were live bugs in it.. yeap).. he's sitting on a rubbish bin btw..

played pool at the hotel lobby after breakfast & swimming. i even had e time to berendam in the bathtub for an hour! haha... its 15000 Rupiah for an hour.. see. CHEAP!!!

going home time.. muker mak bapak aku.. sungguh stress habes!

this time, our ferry terminal's at Batam Centre.. its linked to ANOTHER shopping mall.. but e bridge was too far away, so we malas nk explore.. furthermore, there's a polo raulph lauren store at the terminal itself.. e bro & I got more bajus for ourselves.. goodness! it's too pretty to be ignored lah.. heh!

such a mummy's boy.. CHET!!! i swear im not jealoused. *rolls eyes*

oh, we spent the night at e new Golden View hotel.. bloody spacious rm.. & a not-bad view.. i definitely like..

i love watching RCTI & SCTV, so when i got to buy e real stuff advertised on tv, mcm aku beli satu store kau!

ok.. 2 days tour macam 5 days.. im SO gonna go there again.. maybe in june lah.. this time.. bring my other kakis.. nisa, fana amaciaaam?? JB is sooo last season beb.. hahahha...

today is such an eye-opener for me. call me jakun, i don't care.. being born & bred in the west.. i just realised how secluded my life is.. i shld go out once in awhile to enjoy the things in the east.. seriously.. they have much nicer buildings there...

so, i woke up at 5.30am just to travel on time to changi general hospital.. & i was early.. (as quoted from e boys "nurul's biological clock is different from a normal human being's").. haha.. basket! oh.. frankly speaking.. simei is really not that far.. thank god for mp3s...

anihoos.. met up with abg hanafi there coz he's doing home nursing services with me too.. so yeay, a familiar face! actually, if not for abg's car, we'd have to go public transport. so e both of us tagged along with SSN Thelma... we covered 6 houses from marine parade, eunos & bedok reservoir area..

doing home nursing is waaay different from a ward setting.. ur practically free to do whatever you want, with no one to hover over u during shifts. just make sure all e assignments are done. u can even complete ur errands, send children to school while on duty.. i mean, how cool is that?? & not to mention.. very liberating..

somehow or rather, me & abg see ourselves doing this kinda work when we reach or 50s... haha.. e pay's NOT BAD ($4000+++ gross lah! & that is if ur already a senior senior arh..) & our transport money is covered too.. office hours.. 5 day week, alternate saturdays.. goodness.. & u get to meet people from ALL walks of life.. in my opinion.. its a very "shake-leg" job..

riiite.. got excited there for awhile.. but back to my jakun story..

i felt so blardie backdated sey tadi.. or not old enough for that matter. imagine travelling in a car with a 39 yr old & a 52 yr old.. we got very VERY nostalgic beb.. they kept on teasing me about having a deprived childhood lah.. "i cnt believe u don't know any of these existed" statements.. goodness! i was literally squirming in e front seat! (or shld i say HOT seat eh?? heh!)
then we also passed by president Nathan's private house, e infamous katong laksa place, & they showed me roads ive never even heard of before..

have u ever heard of Lorong N Telok Kurau? they have e funniest road names there caaaan... haha..

ok.. there was one particular house though.. i was so awed by their hospitality. drinks were served e moment we stepped in. they even offered us kuih tarts & kuih bangkits... the aunties who conversed with us were BABAs & we all went down memory lane.. of course i cld only "oooohh... aaaahh.." & they had the 1st coloured TV set cupboard still in beautiful condition. goodness! too bad e tv is no more..

e logo says "SHARP (red, yellow, green stripes) TINITRON".. e tv is supposedly hidden in e cupboard. 1st coloured tv in singapore lah.. so must jakun abit.. haha..

abg pointed out to me that nowadays, e younger generation can never match up to the older generation's social etiquette.. seriously, its a vast difference. i have to agree man..

& today, i met my oldest patient.. she's 104 yrs old.. gawd! SERATUS EMPAT TAHUN OK! its amazing how her cognitive thinking is still very good. e only thing is, she cnt wait to pass.. haiz.. its sad actually, to see these very old, fragile patients asking us for favours to help them end their misery..

i almost cried. but i ddnt. me & abg just bersyukur that we're not going through any of that. insyaallah..
up till today, i ddnt realise there were these ppl who needed our help so much. it's always portrayed on tv how much they're suffering, but seeing it first hand is beyond words..

well, i got another day of home nursing.. & i get e feeling ill get butchered by the both of them tmr.. gawd! it dsnt pay to be a 20 yr old at e moment caaaan... -_-

i swear i think i attract FARTS.. like seriously.. im a "fart-tractor"...

& it's not even those loud, unsmelly ones.. it's those silent killers that smells atrociously HORRIBLE! be it in the train, going down e escalator, in e lift, in the library & especially at home! (at home, e father is e champion of silent killers & e long squeeky ones.. gawd! sungguh merisaukan!)

WHAT E BLOODY HELL IS WRONG WITH U PPL???

& since im always alone during these "happenings", i cnt even complain! so i end up suffering all alone. man.. i pity myself sometimes.. i think i haf that "pls do fart" template on my forehead. *shakes head*

farts & smells aside.. im doing my gerontology posting at AMKH.. its a rehab hospi.. & im liking e pace of work.. very chilled, slow, laid-back.. in short.. a very condusive place to work for those auntie nurses in their 50s-60s.. no offence.. but i think they cn relate! haha..

my am-mas are rocking my days there.. they are so adorably cute i tell you! & i kinda have e upperhand in the language barrier department. my mandarin's ok.. my hokkien is under construction. so, me & e am-mas are like.. old kampong buddies..

one of them totally made my day today.. ive always been mistaken for a chinese.. (small eyes. blame e dad's genes please).. but today.. for e 1ST TIME EVER... my am-ma thought i was from Guangdong CHINA.. my gawd! of all e countries to relate me to.. u put me as a PRC.. bagos lah tu.. & fumei (my PRC classmate) was standing right next to me when she said dat. member shocked skejap lah.. haha..

& for awhile there, we started comparing skin colours.. i think i shld have my name in hanyu pinyin.. something like "Niu-Rul-Hai-Yah".. makes my life easier dsnt it? since 70% of the time, my race is mistaken.. not to mention, i was once supposedly "philippino".. haiz.. i give up..

ok, my legs are trying its best not to faint..

& if ONE MORE PERSON farts ard me.. im going to bloody scream!

i surprised myself with e shuttle run hokaaay.. & e sit ups too.. haha.. about e 2.4km.. i managed only 1.6km.. gosh! e blisters at my ankles were killing me! (eh, dnt assume its an excuse arh).. coz i really wanted to get a bronze ok.. haiyaaaah.. participation poooon, participation lah..

phew! ok fana.. ive taken e napfa.. thank god!!

e week after i come back from attachment is gonna be farking murderous.. 2 projects, tests & exam prep.. holy crap!!!!!!

my weekend was alright.. saturday morning was spent stuck in a jam along the spore causeway. some idiot tried to cut lanes & ended going up e curb & hitting e car in e next lane. BODOH NK MAMPOS! all e drivers of the cars behind got out to see e problem. & we were stuck there for a good 2 hrs.. gawd!

then e motorcycles started coming in. u know how they love "seeping" in between cars.. sempit2 pun, main jalan jer. suddenly i felt e car got hit! i told e daddy to catch e culprit..

long story short.. Daddy has taught me well.. so, im officially a road PAI KIA.. chewaaah!!

sunday afternn, went out with fana agn.. in all my 20 yrs of existence, ive never even been to suntec city.. i know, damn sad. in e great words of fana: "gawd beb, where have u been??!"
did some shopping, again. & now im fhugging broke. crap!

today,

fid thinks harum manis from Bengawan Solo is a PERFUME.. omg fidah!!! its a kuih lah.. u need to get out more woman.. this is saddening... har har...

oh, she's also having grinning syndrome over muhd ridhuan (e spore soccer player).. sheesh! dah lah sal tergiler2kan alp.. korang ni eh... TSK TSK!! padahal.. aku pon sama dol.. muahahah!!

fana had this crazy idea that we sort of "steal" my dad's car & hitch a road trip to thailand for this sunday's match.. now, if we're in Nurul & Fana's fantasy world, that would have been easily possible.. not to mention, we cld even ask wentworth miller or channing tatum to be our boy toys.. so we wouldnt be bored during a freaking 12 hr drive.. but har har.. reality check beb.. FAT HOPE!!!!
